What is an email link?
Email links are used to redirect to an email address instead of a web page URL. When a user clicks on the Email link, the default email client on the visitor's computer opens and suggests sending a message to the email address mentioned in the Email link. For publications, we can add an Email link as a specific URL in an external link widget. An Email link example would follow the format of "mailto:info@zmags.com".
More information on External link widgets in general can be found here.
Steps to create a basic email link
1) From "All Publications", open Zmags Enriched by clicking on the "Enrichments" button off to the right of your publication in the list.
2) Once Zmags Enriched opens, click on the Link icon in the toolbar (Fig 1.0) on the left hand side of the interface and choose External Link. After this, mark an area on the page on which you want to place the link. (Fig 1.1)

3) This will open the external link dialog box, which has the following properties. For this example, we are using the Email link "mailto:info@zmags.com" (Fig 1.2)
Fig 1.2
URL - The email address to direct the user to with "mailto:" in front of it. Example: mailto:info@zmags.com. Make sure there are no spaces present between "mailto:" and the email address.
If you'd like to add a specific subject to the email you need to add the following at the end of the mailto:
?subject=your-subject-here
Example: mailto:info@zmags.com?subject=your-subject-here
Open link in - For an email link, the Open Link In setting would need to be changed to "Current window/tab."
Width & Height: The width and height of the link area in Pixels on the page
Top & Left: The exact position of the link in Pixels on the page
External source allows you to use images from the media library in the link area you have defined. The default value is None, which will make the link behave as a normal link.
Opacity determines how transparent the link should be in the Editor. Set to 0% for completely invisible links. Set to 100% for complete opaque links. However, these will only be opaque in the editor, and still will be transparent in your live publication.
4) After creating the link(s) choose File > Save All from the top menu (Fig 1.3) and Exit Zmags Enriched
