Are you having problems with the Zmags Publicator? Issues loading one or more publications? The following troubleshooting steps may be of use.
Step 1: Check browser version:
Various sites available online such as "What Browser" can help you make sure you're using the latest available version of your web browser. You may also directly download the latest version by clicking one of the following:
Internet Explorer |
Firefox |
Chrome |
Safari |
Step 2: Clear your browser data:
If the Zmags publication you are viewing has changed recently, you may have an old version lingering in your system's local files. Clearing this stored data forces your browser to re-download the latest versions of all files, which will resolve errors stemming from any such version mismatches. Here's how to clear the browser data for each of the major web browsers:
Internet Explorer
(1) Press Ctrl+Shift+Delete on the keyboard simultaneously. |
|
Firefox
(1) Press Ctrl+Shift+Delete on the keyboard simultaneously. |
|
Chrome
(1) Press Ctrl+Shift+Delete on the keyboard simultaneously. |
|
Safari
(1) Press CMD+Option+E on the keyboard simultaneously. |
Once you've done that, try reloading the page and see if it has resolved the issue.
Step 3: Try another browser, or another PC:
If interference from browser add-ons or a bad update is the source of your issue, switching to another web browser or another computer may resolve it in the short-term. If you find that switching helps, you may be able to correct the problem on your original browser as well by resetting it to default settings. Here's how to do that for each of the major web browsers:
Internet Explorer
(1) If you don't see it already, press "Alt" to show the "Tools" menu. |
|
Firefox
(1) Click the "Firefox" menu, mouse-over "Help", and then click "Troubleshooting Information". |
|
Chrome
(1) Click the Chrome menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the upper-right corner. |
|
Safari
(1) In the "Safari" menu, click "Reset Safari...." |
If resetting the browser to default settings did not help, the issue may be with third party software such as a firewall interfering with your connection. Try disabling any firewalls or security software temporarily and reload the problem webpage. If you find that this helps, it may be advisable to uninstall and reinstall the offending software.
